Our favorite fruit for all season. And we love it for so many reasons.  They are not just delicious but also rich in vitamins, minerals, and has many amazing healthy benefits.

Cherries rank as one of the most health protective foods. They are a great source of fiber, help the body digest sugar more slowly.

Promote Weight Loss

Cherries contain fiber (almost 3 grams per serving) which will reduce your bodies cholesterol and accelerate the overall weight loss process.

Jam-packed with antioxidants

Cherries contains high sources of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds that slow down aging and fight off chronic illnesses—including heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, and obesity.

Promote healthy sleep

          They are rich in tryptophan, serotonin, and the melatonin in cherries helps fight against sleeping disorder like insomnia.

Provide arthritis relief

Black cherry juice is effective in relieving arthritis pain due to its inflammatory properties.

A small 2013 study found slightly improved WOMAC scores for people who had consumed cherry juice for the 6 weeks of the study. This was in comparison with receiving a placebo, but the difference was not significant. It is important to note that a corporation that makes and sells cherry juice funded this research. 

Treat Gout

One 2012 study looked at 633 people with gout and revealed that those who ate cherries or cherry extract had a lower risk of repeated gout attacks. The researchers thought that this could be due to the anthocyanins in the fruit.

Gout is caused by an accumulation of uric acid in the blood. Cherry juice contains compounds that can relieve gout pain by lowering the levels of uric acid.

Cherry Infused Water

Ingredients:

1 quart canning jar

8 fresh cherries, halved

Water

How to Make:

Add the cherry halves to your canning jar. Next, use a spoon or a fork to gently mash the fruit down a little bit. This will let the juice out of the fruit to infuse your water. Fill the jar with water, place the cover on, give it a good shake and refrigerate overnight for the best flavor.
